The Bridge School

Curriculum

Instructional Foundations

Bridge School’s curriculum is a defined course of study, predicated on the Preschool Learning Foundations and the Common Core Standards dictated by the State of California, that provides our educational teams with a blueprint for designing individualized instruction. By offering a well defined curriculum, our educational teams can personalize each student’s curriculum and instruction in ways that:

  • Support and build upon current communication skills,
  • Maximize grade-level academic and social participation,
  • Prioritize and ensure desired educational outcomes, and
  • Contribute to a positive quality of life for our students and their families.

As each personalized curriculum is developed, we draw from the critical content and skill areas based on the student’s grade level and unique learning needs to include:

  • Standards-based, language and communication focused preschool curriculum with accommodations
  • Standards-based, language and communication focused preschool curriculum with accommodations and modifications
  • Standards-based general education curriculum with accommodations for students in grades K-5
  • Standards-based general education curriculum with accommodations and modifications (alternate curriculum)
  • Specialized curricular area: Communicative Competence using AAC systems
